There are few things in a household that are worse than bed bugs. they suck. literally. and chances are if you’ve got a bed bug problem, you want to just want to head for the hills. Notice I didn’t say pack up, because if you’re anything like me, you’ll feel like the moment you see one there are a million more in and on every piece of furniture you own.
Luckily this isn’t the case all the time. If you catch on to the critters early you can get them out of your life and keep them out. There are a few products on the market that do wonders when it comes to killing bed bugs and keeping them from coming back, or reproducing, or whatever creepy **** it is that they do.
NOTE: If you can, it’s always best to call a professional to handle your bed bug problem for you. These products are good to have after the fact mainly for your own piece of mind and so you’ll feel twice as safe when you go over a second time.
If you for some reason aren’t able to get a professional to de-bug your house, then these products are your next best bet. I repeat these products are your next best bet! You may see some videos online telling you to use bleach or ammonia or whatever and that’s fine but it won’t kill all the bed bugs and to be honest if you’re not willing to get a professional or use the products mentioned on this page, then you’re better off throwing everything out… just saying.

If your bed bugs were found where their name suggests, you’ll want to get a cover encasement to prevent from getting back in… or from getting out and biting you. But before you do that you’ll want to vacuum your mattress, box spring, etc. to get what you can. (Empty your vacuum outside). Then from there hit the mattress with one of the following sprays (be sure to follow the instructions for safety!)
This product is nice because it’s all natural. It does its job and it does it well. When it comes to the Eco defense bed bug killer, it’s not as long lasting as some of the other products here in the list, and so it won’t do much to bed bugs that are in their egg form. However, it won’t matter much if you choose to get the mattress cover that was suggested since any remaining buggers will be trapped and eventually die. If you want to go full terminator mode then you’ll want to go for one of the more harsh products below.
This is one of the best options on the list, as the diatomaceous earth is great for long term bed bug control. It’s best used by dusting it around the affected area and within any crevices or cracks where bed bugs may lurk. Whenever a bed bug comes in contact with the powder they will dry out, shrivel up and die. Problem solved.
This is the potent power packed bed bug killer. Simply follow the instructions for the best results, may take a few treatments, but it’s well worth it. This product is odorless and completely safe once it has dried, and will rid you of your bed bug issue relatively quickly.
These go under the legs of your bed and will catch any bed bugs that try to get to you…or try to escape to another location. In order for this to work, your bed and bedding must not be directly touching the floor. This will allow the interceptors to do their job by being the only point of contact in which the bed bugs can get in.
This little gadget is a great all around pest repeller. It emits an ultrasonic frequency that is extremely bothersome to bed bugs. In other words, it lets them know not to come near you, but now that you’ve treated your room with a few of the other products listed, this gadget will be the only warning they get.
